Messaging & Collaboration Engineer

Contract Position: Distributed Logic is seeking an experienced Office 365 messaging and collaboration expert to join a team that will be responsible for delivering and supporting Office 365 services. The O365 Engineer’s role will be responsible for the technical aspects of on-boarding clients to Office 365, which includes provide proactive guidance and remediation assistance. 

Overall Responsibilities:

Help companies transform the traditional on premises deployment of Exchange, Skype, and SharePoint to Microsoft Office 365 Cloud. This includes the migration of on-premises content to O365.  Work with clients who are under our managed service program to ensure their environments are working optimally and issues/requests are resolved in a timely manner

Analyze, develop and communicate key onboarding process and technology improvement feedback for Office 365 onboarding and entire implementation cycle. 

Required Technical Skills:

Hands on experience implementing and supporting Office 365 and hybrid infrastructure (AD connect, Exchange/Lync Hybrid/SharePoint).

Cloud competency understanding and the complexity of the issues that arise in migrations and deployment to the cloud. 

Experience with Exchange 2010-2016 and hybrid implementations.

Understanding of Skype for business online and Lync on-premise.
Experience with SharePoint on-premises infrastructure and/or experience with SharePoint solutions building, permissions management and administration.

Understanding of general networking concepts, and both public and private Microsoft DNS.

Strong understanding of PowerShell scripting techniques.

Preferred Technical skills:

Understanding of ADFS, Okta, Active Directory and AD Connect.
Office 365 security, governance and compliance (e.g. DLP, MDM, E-Discovery, retention etc.)

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in systems engineering role.
Solid network/infrastructure background.
Must have excellent organizational and project management skills.

Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years’ experience managing Office 365 Cloud Services.
Strong communication skills to effectively drive recommendations and priorities across customers.

Possess a broad knowledgebase of Office 365 technical architecture.

Strong problem-solving ability ranging from conceptualization to implementation.
